Nex Flow Vortex Tubes

Vortex Tubes

There are three standard sizes for the basic Frigid-X™ vortex tubes – the mini size which uses 2, 4 or 8 SCFM, the most common (medium) size which uses 10, 15, 25, 30 and 40 SCFM, and the large sizes which use 50, 75, 100 and 150 SCFM.  The large sizes are used in heavy industry but can cool to over 10,000 BTU/hr.

Vortex tubes normally come with the “hot end” adjustable to control the flow and temperature out the cold end.  The more flow out the hot side, the lower the temperature out the cold side.

Nex Flow Panel Coolers / Cabinet Enclosure Coolers

Cabinet Enclosure Coolers

The Frigid-X series Cabinet Enclosure Cooler for electronic control panels provides a low cost method of both purging and cooling electrical and electronic control panels by using a stainless steel vortex tube to create cold air from ordinary compressed air.

Nex Flow Silent Frigid-Xâ„¢ Panel Cooler

Silent Frigid-X™ Panel Cooler

The Silent Frigid-X™ Panel Cooler series for electronic control panels provide a low cost method of both purging and cooling electrical and electronic control panels by using a stainless steel vortex tube to create cold air from ordinary compressed air.

By utilizing a hot and cold end muffling kit the unit is made extra quiet to under 64 dBA depending on capacity. The hot end muffler also acts as a “heat guard” – you can wrap your hand around it without feeling much heat. The hot air is exhausted safely underneath the hot end muffler.

Adjustable Spot Coolers

Mini Spot Cooler

The Frigid-X™ Adjustable Spot Cooler is a low cost and maintenance free  system which utilizes a vortex tube to produce cold air at one end.

Temperature can be adjusted using a knob at the hot end to set the temperature precisely to your requirements. Temperatures range from approximately minus 30ºF to room temperature and can be easily set with a thermometer.

The Mini Spot Cooler is a low cost, quiet, compact, and maintenance free system which utilizes a vortex tube to produce cold air at one end.

Designed for small parts, the Frigid-X™ Mini Spot Cooler produces a stream of 15 to 20 degree F (-9.5 to -7 Deg C) of cold air to prevent heat buildup depending on inlet air temperature. It can improve tolerances in machining of small critical parts and increase production rates.

Vortex Tube Tool Cooling Systems

The Frigid-X™ Tool Cooling System is the ideal product to improve dry machining applications.   There is a move away from traditional flood cooling systems where possible, because of the rising cost of handling and even disposal cost of flood coolant.   Machines are being designed to deal with many issues in moving from wet to dry machining that affect cleaning, scrap removal, and quality.

Mist Tool Cooling System

This unique patented low cost system  is ideal for these applications to provide both the lubrication needed and cooling. The unit is comprised of a coolant/lubrication suction system which draws any water based liquid into a specially designed delivery system.

The vortex tube cools the liquid in the delivery tube to provide a very cold fluid “mist” at around 40 degrees F (5 degrees C). This cooling allows for as much as 20% less coolant/lubricant needed, faster production rates, and improved quality. An Adjusting screw controls the amount of mist required. The simple operation, lack of moving parts except for the adjusting screw means long life, low cost operation, and zero maintenance.
